We think that the article is very funny and interesting; it shows some real aspects of the Italian Culture such as people's individualism in the way of thinking and acting. At the same time, the author parodies some Italian attitudes.
It's amazing to observe how some habits are similar and shared by countries which have a culture that is very different from the Italian one.

we (elvira, vanessa, giusy, beatrice m.) quite agree with bozzetto's outlook about italians. we found his video very funny. nevertheless, we do not believe that all italians are individalistic as he says. we found his comment about government quite realistic and the plane landing very amusing.

I didn't know that the Italian people were so flexible before i watched the video. I thought that you italians are as conservative as the other european nations. For example, in the video, especially in the example of cigarattes there are many similarities between Turkey and Italy. People in Turkey like smoking and in the areas smoking is not allowed, some rich people pay for the punishment and still smoke just because they want to. Apart from smoking, when it comes to eating, taste is a very important issue especially in the eastern part of Turkey as Italians.

I think Italian culture is really different from European culture because they are impatient, individualist and they don’t like obey the rules. All these things aren’t weird for us because we are similar to Italian people in many aspects. It is astonishing to learn that in European countries, people are similar but Italians want to be unique. I think that is really nice. Because European people usually distant however Italian people are different from other European people. I think that is the best way to communicate with people to being friendly.

We already knew Bruno Bozzetto because we saw his Web video "Europe and Italy" in the internet, some weeks ago and because Bozzetto is considered a symbol of Italian creativity. The only thing that we immediately found strange was the segment where he shows how Italians do not respect the No smoking sign. Later, we realized that the video was made in 1998, and in the article we read that also Bozzetto says that if he were to do it again, he would change that part. Indeed, we immediately grew respectful of the anti-smoking law. What about the coffee scene? Elena, for example, has worked in a bar and she can say that the sketch does not totally correspond to reality but, at the same time, it is not far off from it! Explaining this humorous scene, Bozzetto affirms that Italians are individualistic and everyone makes his own law. Of course, generalizing is an irresponsible act but we think that individualism is one of Italians peculiar "trend". Bozzetto says also that we cannot blame the government for what is happening, but is not the behavior of our politicians the biggest manifestation of the sentence "everybody makes his own law?"? Most Italians have not the sense of law, it is true, but politicians do not give us a good example, as they should.
What about traffic signals? Italy is one of those countries in which if you have to reach a place, often you can’t put yourself into the hands of traffic signals because it’s impossible to understand them!

I'm quite agree with the video and also with the other comments.
It is a funny coincidence because last year a turkish friend showed me this video to let me understand how Italy and Turkey are often so similar!
I think that these skeches are very funny on screen but they are not for what concern some aspects such as the disfunction of the government. In my opinion this chaos depends on one hand on the bad organisation of the political parties and on the other hand on the uncaring attitude of many people who don't respect the common rules.
Very funny and absolutely real the "coffee sketch"!
